Ross Bakery Inn Kirsty’s Cottage
Our daughter Kirsty has a lovely little cottage that she has recently renovated.
When she's away (which is often) we let it out on her behalf as holiday accommodation.
Kirsty's Cottage is
ideal:
- If you just want
to be on your own and not be bothered mixing with other guests staying
at our Inn. (Great for first and second honeymoons!)
- If you're a family
group who just want to look after yourselves. You can flop around in your
pyjamas, the kids can watch TV all night if they want and you don't have
to worry about disturbing anyone else.
- If you're 2 couples
travelling together and you want a bit more space than just a couple of
bedrooms.
Originally built in 1880 by one Frances Hall the cottage has been in constant
use for over 120 years as a private home, bakery and more recently a coffee
shop. It's of timber construction and as you can see from the pictures the
main rooms are entirely timber lined - including the ceilings - which gives
the whole place a warm cosy feel.
There are 3 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms have queen size beds and the third has 2 single beds with room for a small fold up bed on the floor for an extra child.
The
lounge has a log fire heater and the kitchen is fully equipped for home
cooking if you feel inclined. The toilet and shower room has a 2-way entrance,
which means it can also be accessed as an ensuite from the main bedroom.
In
addition to the log fire in the lounge the whole cottage is heated by wall
mounted electric convection heaters. And of course the cottage complies
with all modern fire and safety regulations with smoke and heat detectors
in all the right places.
What do you get?
- A fully equipped
3 bedroom cottage that can sleep 6 people plus 1 extra on a fold up bed.
- Electric heating,
electric blankets and a log fire in the lounge.
- TV with VCR and
radio in the lounge.
- A family size kitchen
with complimentary tea and coffee. When you arrive we'll give you a plate
of Bakery goodies. If you don't feel like cooking it's a 2 minute stroll
back up to our Bakery or 'downtown' to the pub and local restaurant.
- Laundry facilities
- Cottage garden with
outside tables and chairs for when it's fine.
- Bakery breakfast.
We supply: cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants,
hot bread & Danish pastry in a Little Red Riding Hood basket for you to
collect from the Bakery. Just watch out for the wolf as you skip along back
to your cottage! We don't do bacon & eggs but of course you can always
bring your own if that's what you want.
